In July

Wounds to heal, Heels to wound 1965 to 1983

In my garden, I played, in July.

Because the sun shone,

And I was bored

I played games with the boy next door,

Cowboys and Indians,

Soldiers, Policemen,

Bank robbers.

Sometimes other friends came and

 We played football.

They were happy times,

As well as sad times.

And the birds sang,

And the bees buzzed.

And the cars on the road

Made strange, quick,

Loud noises.

It was sunny, no clouds,

The grass was turning brown,

And I went indoors, and when I came out again,

The sun dazzled my eyes.
